Another internship, done!

After an awesome 4 months, I’ve wrapped up my embedded software engineering internship at Ciena.
Although it was a short term, Ciena & my team provided me with experiences that I will carry with me throughout my career. I joined the team not knowing any embedded concepts, any C, or any networking systems.
I had no idea what I was doing.
I left Ciena understanding all of that + how to work with a team, the importance of good software design and thorough testing, and how to write and ship real, impactful software.
I’m really thankful for my manager, who gave me a chance to be a part of the team, and the whole team for being such awesome people who’ve taken the time (and patience) to really guide my learning and work, and gave me the change to ship real, impactful code.
I’m also honoured to have received an award from my manager, mentor, and a senior team member recognizing me for my work.
Ciena was truly a valuable experience, and as I start my search for Fall 2026 internships, I can only hope that I get something of this caliber once again!
